For your jave-enabled mobile phone.

Congratulations...

... for your decision to quit smoking. I hope this little program for your mobile phone helps you!

Documentation

No Smoke Counter is a small java program (J2ME/MIDP2.0) for your mobile phone that helps you quit smoking. I quit smoking on the 14th of April 2003 and used a similar program for my Palm organizer. Since I switched using my mobile phone instead of my Palm I missed a program like that.

It basically consists of two screens. The status screen shows your current status since you quit smoking (see image below).

Screenshot Status Screen

It shows you the days, hours and minutes since you quit smoking. In addition the number of cigarettes you have not smoked and the money you saved are displayed. A small ticker displays some health benefits of your decision to quit smoking.

To configure these settings you can use the settings screen:

It allows you to configure the number of cigarettes you smoked a day, your quit date and time, the number of cigarettes per pack and the price per pack. These settings are permanently saved on your mobile phone.

Installation

Your mobile phone must support the following Java mobile APIs to be able to run this program:

I have successfully tried it on the Motorola RAZR V3i. I will add more phones here when I get feedback from users. Please tell me if your experiencing any problems or if you have successfully run the application on your mobile phone.

To install the program directly on your mobile phone point your (mobile phone!) browser to the following location: http://nosmokecounter.sourceforge.net/nsc0.1.jad. This link points to the latest version (currently Version 0.1). Also this sounds rather early it is a fully functional version!
